Byron Clark wanted to raise $1200 so he could document the occupy movement that recently occurred in Christchurch. From October 15th 2011 until March 25th 2012, protesters camped out in a corner of Hagley Park as part of a global protest against wealth inequality.
Byron wanted to use the money to purchase recording equipment for his interviews and also self publish a book (and give copies to various historical archives). He did it! 20 pledgers supported Bryon so he can now start recording. Here’s what he had to say about PledgeMe:
What did you like about pledgeme?
Easy to use, useful support
How did you find the experience?
Excellent. Helped to popularise the project as well as raise funds.
Any tips for newbies?
Rewards make a difference, people seem to want some recognition of their contribution- my most popular reward was including the name of the pledger in the book
I say crowdfunding, you say:
Success.
Success.
