Mo Blishen and her talented band of musicians needed a bit of help to record Wide Awake and Highly Strung. And the got it. 50 pledgers helped the band raise $4020 to pay for their recording and pressing costs. Mo and her group can now print 500 CD’s and distribute the album digitally. Here is what the band had to say about PledgeMe:
What did you like about PledgeMe?
It was an independent organization/community, detached from the artist but for the artist. It gave people a place to go, compare and see what is out there. I had a pledge from someone who I didn’t know or target that had pledged on other campaigns.
How did you find the experience?
Good, exhausting, humbling, exciting.
Any tips of newbies?
You really have to get out there and push yourself, remind people to pledge, email, facebook. I got some vista print business cards printed with the web address on and stuck them to chocolate fish and gave them to my work mates. You need to get creative and slightly pushy as people are careful with their money and selective as to what they give to.
