We were really really excited when this project met it’s goal. Not only because Mike and Sam RB are awesome (and so deserving), but also because it was the tipping point for us. 30 successful projects through PledgeMe means to us that we’ve hit a nerve – there is a real need for crowdfunding in New Zealand. After we finished our celebration, we got in touch with the Stand Tall team about their experience, and this is what Mike told us:

What did you like about pledgeme?
The ease of use, the rapid communication, the can-do attitude, the fact that this is a local initiative, the seamless way Pledge Me works in with social networks, and the wide range of assistance given.

How did you find the experience?
It was great fun, and exhilarating getting updates on the progress of the project. This is such a great tool for helping artistic ventures get off the ground. The way that Pledge Me has been set up and the people working behind the scenes make for a wonderful experience.

    Any tips for newbies?
The key lies in having existing networks to be able to communicate with. It would be difficult to get something up if you didn’t already have some sort of community of support before you started. We decided to aim for a modest goal, and to make the timeline relatively short in order to not exhaust either ourselves or our pledgers, and that seems to have worked for us. I think it’s important to keep the communication flowing with updates and thank you messages to pledgers.

    I say crowdfunding, you say:
Opening the doors for goodness to flow…
