We are stoked to announce that Matt Stevens is joining the PledgeMe team as our CFO (Chief Financial Officer).
Matt is a chartered accountant, financial leader and company director of Parrotdog Brewing. Now located in Lyall Bay, Wellington, Parrotdog is one of the largest locally owned brewing companies in New Zealand. In 2016 they raised $2 million in two days during an equity crowdfund with us.
The three Matts (yes, there were three of them) of Parrotdog did that by using four guiding principles:
- Having fun – they made a splash by being themselves
- Building anticipation amongst their crowd
- Gaining the respect of their crowd by showing them they were serious about their growth plan
- Planning to go live and get the job done as soon as they could!
Matt has had operational roles within the business including CFO and Commercial Director for the last 13 years. He continues his involvement in Parrotdog Brewing Limited in his new capacity as Non-Executive Director.
These days he lives in Nelson, having recently moved with his wife and kids to be closer to his whānau.

“And we’ve already seen this in action. We had an hour with some founders on Friday who ended the meeting with a clear request “please work with us Matt!”
