The team from 350 Aotearoa are now expanding to Auckland! Thanks to 71 pledgers the Wellington based climate change group raised $2615 to pay a years rent for their new office space in The Kitchen, Auckland. What did you like about pledgeme?
Easy to use, intuitive interface online, friendly, looks great, successful!!
How did you find the experience?
Same as above, also – fundraising with your friends and family and networks online is a dicey balance, I didn’t want to put people off my posts / emails and put them off my organisation because I was posting asking for money so much.
So I think a short timeframe is good – I had mine run for 3 weeks, but I think 10 days is probably a good max for a relatively small fundraiser (ours was 2500).
Any tips for newbies?
Short time frame.The most successful promotion was via our organisations newsletter (large audience to communicate to), and also via facebook having big names (MPs, well know people) supporting the project. We got that support by personally contacting people and asking them to show their support for the project, which they did!!!
