Crowdfunding is going gangbusters in New Zealand. Over the past two years we have helped 700 projects raise over $3.1 million dollars and by expanding into equity crowdfunding, PledgeMe is set to grow – but we need the right people to help us manage our growth. We’re successful because we love crowdfunding (so much that we’re crowdfunding crowdfunding, check out our project here). Now we’re looking for someone who shares that love to be PledgeMe’s equity crowdfunding champion.

The role is part time,16 hours a week with room to grow to full time work over 2015. Fixed term for 6 months and can be based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch.

The ideal person will have a handle on what companies need to grow and be familiar with the PledgeMe platform. You’ll need to be quirky (just to fit in with the rest of the team, they’re pretty crazy (in a good way)), proactive, organised, tech-savvy, and have a determination to conquer the equity crowdfunding space.

Equity crowdfunding is a pretty dynamic place. One morning you could be working with a local craft brewery and then in the afternoon scoping out a technology museum. You’ll be working with a diverse range of companies to bring them up to speed with what equity crowdfunding is and support them through the process of running campaigns.

If you think this is you, or someone you know, check out the full job description below and then send an application — in any form that you see fit — to us at contact@pledgeme.co.nz, tweet us at @pledgeme with the hashtag #equitychamp or drop it off at the office at Level 3, 267 Wakefield Street, Wellington.

    Applications close 30 November 2014.

Looking forward to seeing your applications.

Job Description: Chief of Equity Crowdfunding

Hours: 16 hours per week – with room to grow to full time work over 2014/15. Fixed term for 6 months (to review hours and terms)

Location: Auckland or Wellington or Christchurch

    Rate: $35-45/hr

With our entry into the equity crowdfunding space, we need a new team member for our growing team of crowdfunding aficionados. No two days are the same, but one thing is for sure – you will always feel like you’re making a difference.

Here’s what we’re looking for in the perfect Equity Crowdfunding champion:

    • Not afraid to be a bit quirky. We occasionally wear onesies to the office (but only on Wednesdays)

    • Proactive. We don’t just want someone passively waiting behind a computer screen, but actively out finding people that need help funding things they care about (in the business space).

    • Attention to detail – passionate about inbox zero (TBH, inbox ten is fine too) and hate the fact I just used a dash instead of an em dash…

    • Tech able. No, you don’t need to be able to code C#, but you should know you should be able to work your way around embed code and excel spreadsheets

    • Empathetic. You need to want to help people, and get the best out of every project/creator that comes through the door…or inbox.

    • Able to think on your feet or chair. Happy to point out things you think could be improved, then leading the charge to fix ‘em.

    • Determination to conquer the equity crowdfunding world…well in NZ at least

    • A happy and inspiring person people want to work with.

    What this actually means day-to-day:

    • Responding promptly to correspondence regarding equity campaigns

    • Supporting creators during project creation and managing all the steps from reviewing initial request to project close out. You’ll coordinate feedback, ask questions about their business model, and make sure they know how to get their crowd on board.

    • Answering enquiries in a timely manner – and forwarding on when help needed

    • Being a passionate brand advocate

    • Good humour and competence even when things turn to custard.

    • Support at events (every few weeks – it’ll be fun, promise).
