Here at PledgeMe, we’re all about young people doing cool things. And two of our favourite young people – the dynamic duo behind ID Tech – have just been awarded the Ministry of Business & Innovation Award for Excellence in Operations at the Young Enterprise Scheme Awards!
We’ve been in awe of 16-year-old Jacques and David ever since they set up a PledgeMe campaign in August to fund their invention the PoKey – which aimed to “make keyrings a thing of the past”. The PoKey is a key organiser, brilliantly designed to avoid normal keyring issues like bulkiness and phone scratches. It comes in a range of 10 colours, and can slip neatly into any suit or pants pocket! What’s not to like?
Unsurprisingly, the pair blasted through their target and raised enough to take production outside of their school workshop. They’re still two years off graduating high school, but they’re creating piles of PoKeys and changing the world one keyring at a time. We’ve got a real soft spot for the Young Enterprise Scheme (our CBB Anna’s a past participant!) so we’re stoked they’ve acknowledged the PoKey crew’s business acumen like this.
